Brentwood Swimming Club
The Club offers a wide range of swimming activities which include the Teaching Section, Competitive Squad Swimming, Masters Swimming, Synchronised Swimming and Water Polo. Sessions are provided to suit all abilities for children from the age of 3 who are learning to swim through to senior Masters swimmers.
Competitive Swimming
Competitive swimming squads are trained by an ASA coach who coaches on British swimming training camps. The squad system caters for all age groups, progressing through County, East regional, national and international standard. ASA level 2 teachers attend to lower squads. Training cycles / programs are set to enable swimmers to reach their full potential. This section encourages swimmers to look after their health and diet; it builds fitness at the highest level and promotes a healthy life style. Participating at this level looks good on a CV and can improve university prospects.
Learn to Swim
The learn to swim section is taught by ASA qualified teachers who follow the ASA national plan for teaching swimming and can cater for all ages from 3 years upwards, with a new adult and child program to be introduced soon. Further information on learn to swim can be found on the club's web site.
Water Polo Section
Water Polo is an active and physical water sport. Training takes place weekly with matches taking place throughout the year. The club currently has a number of very talented players who represent the county.
Masters Section
The master section caters for swimmers 18-years and over. Ideal for maintaining fitness and flexibility. Qualified teachers attend training.
Synchronised Swimming
The synchronised swimming section trains twice a week. They compete at county and regional level. A team event with different categories including pairs, fours and eights. A colourful sport with dedicated ASA teachers and coaching staff.
Fitness Section
A fitness section is available for swimmers not wishing to commit to competitive training but who want to continue swimming and maintain their fitness. It is still possible for these swimmers to compete at lower level galas. This section is ideal for teenagers who have completed learn to swim but are too young for masters.
The club's base is the Brentwood Centre in Doddinghurst Road, Brentwood
where the majority of sessions take place. The club is also grateful to
St Helen's School in Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood and to Brentwood
County High School in Seven Arches Road for the use of their pools
for training and teaching sessions.
